If These Walls Could Talk…
Named a National and California Historic Landmark in 1984, this treasured venue was built as a memorial to those who served in the U.S. armed forces during World War I, and is the only venue to host two Summer Olympics (soon to be three in 2028).
The L.A. Memorial Coliseum has seen many truly historic moments, including visits from major figures like Presidents Franklin D Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, and Ronald Reagan. It has also been graced by the likes of Martin Luther King, Jr., Cesar Chavez, Pope John Paul II, the Dalai Lama, and Nelson Mandela.
Additionally, the stadium has served as a home to college football’s USC Trojans as well as the professional football’s Los Angeles Rams, Raiders and Chargers. It was also the home base for the L.A. Dodgers and the 1959 World Series.
